The semiconductor electronics industry with a complete industrial ecosystem is the most advantageous industry in Taiwan and the lifeblood of our economy. The industrial development of quantum computers also needs semiconductor technology as the cornerstone. The cross-field combination of semiconductor and quantum is in line with the current national semiconductor key development policy and the trend of scientific research in the front-end quantum field.
In this cross-field aspect, we will focus on the impact of quantum tunneling noise on quantum computing and high-performance computing. The key targets to be addressed are the excessive power consumption of advanced semiconductor chips in high-performance computing and the charge noise in silicon spin qubits.

Expanding the application of semiconductor technology is beneficial to the continuation and expansion of the global influence of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. In addition to enhancing Taiwan’s leading influence and international reputation in high-performance computing and quantum computing, it will also help develop industries related to high-performance computing and quantum computing. The equipment we build and the technology we develop are closer to the industry. We hope to meet the needs of the industry, cultivate the talents needed by the industry, and create a high-level environment with ultra-low noise and automatic low-temperature measurement. It is expected to attract talents in relevant research fields at home and abroad join the team.
